Boardgames & Cheap Wine

Fall 2022 is a throwback. In 2018, my husband and I quit our jobs and moved down to the family cabin for the fall. Josh found his inner lumberjack and I spent my time looking for mushies and feeding the grey jays. In the mornings we'd stoke the fire and cuddle up on the couch beneath a mountain of quilts, our teeth still chattering. And in the evenings we'd gather friends around the table: for boardgames, and a meal, and cheap wine. We stayed out till November that year, only coming home when the water froze solid and we couldn't fetch it with a bucket anymore. Some of our fondest memories from a marriage still young. This is Fall 2018, memorialized for 2022.
